Start the cleaning process by first knocking down any flaking or loose rust from the surface with a rag or light sanding. Then liberally apply Rust Free to the surface, working in sections, rather than trying to tackle the whole surface at once.
An abrasive pad, #0000 steel wool, or other gentle abrasive is next used to work the damaged areas to remove the surface rust and corrosion. If the damage is deep, you may need to repeat this step.

With your surface free of damaged areas, go ahead and wipe on a coat of T-9 Rust & Corrosion Protection to add a layer of prevention so you won't have to repeat the cleaing process as often. Even in the toughest of weather conditions, this layer will provide a sense of security.
