Frequently Asked Questions

What grits do the Mirka flexible sanding pads come in?

They are available in five grits: 100, 150, 180, 220, and 320, so you can move from leveling to fine finish sanding. See more options in our sandpaper collection.

How big are the pads?

Each pad measures 4" long x 3" wide x 1/2" thick, a comfortable size for hand-sanding contoured parts.

What pack sizes are offered?

The flexible sanding pads are sold in 10-piece or 25-piece packs, so you can buy in the quantity that fits your project or shop.

What abrasive do these pads use?

They use a full, even coating of aluminum oxide grain bonded to a dense foam structure, which makes for a long-lasting, flexible pad.

Why use a foam pad instead of a sanding block?

The flexible foam body conforms to curves, coves, and profiles, so it reaches contoured parts and hard-to-reach spots where a rigid sanding block won't fit. Compare with rigid options in sanding & abrasives.

What materials can I sand with these pads?

They work for hand-sanding wood, solid surface, metal, plastics, and many other materials, making them versatile for finish work.

Are these good for finish sanding?

Yes. With grits up to 320 and a flexible foam body, they are ideal for finish sanding of contoured and profiled parts, especially in intricately detailed woodwork.

Can I use them on profiled molding and beads?

Absolutely. The flexible foam wraps around coves, beads, and curved profiles, making these pads well-suited to detailed moldings and shaped edges.

Who makes these sanding pads?

They are made by Mirka Abrasives. Browse more of their abrasives and other supplies in our power sanding selection.

How long do the pads last?

The dense foam structure with a full, even aluminum oxide coating makes for a long-lasting pad that holds up to repeated hand-sanding of detailed parts.
