A stacked dado set uses two outer blades plus a set of chippers stacked on the arbor to cut a flat-bottomed groove wider than a standard saw kerf. The width is adjusted by changing which chipper combinations you stack. A zero-clearance insert replaces the stock throat plate with a blank that is then cut in place — with the blade raised through the blank — to create a kerf that exactly matches the blade width. A crosscut sled rides in both miter slots simultaneously, providing far more stability and a much larger fence reference surface than a miter gauge. The fence alone is not safe for very narrow rip cuts because the narrow offcut can contact the blade after separation. Use a thin rip guide that rides along the fence and provides a controlled gap between the fence and blade, keeping the narrow strip safely clear of the blade exit. For strips under about an inch, consider the bandsaw instead.

A blade splitter is a static plate mounted behind the blade that prevents the kerf from closing and pinching the blade, which causes kickback. A riving knife moves with the blade as it tilts and always stays close to the blade regardless of height setting. The laser-kerf blade splitter is a fixed splitter that provides kickback protection and is compatible with a zero-clearance insert when a riving knife cannot be used.

The precision miter bar is an accurately machined steel bar that slides in the miter slot of a table saw, router table, or bandsaw and serves as the foundation for building sleds and jigs. It measures 9-7/8" long by 3/4" wide by 3/8" thick, fitting the standard miter slot found on most woodworking machines sold in North America.

The JessEm Clear-Cut stock guides are spring-loaded hold-down guides that clamp to the rip fence and apply downward and lateral pressure to the workpiece throughout the cut. This keeps the board flat against the table and firmly against the fence, preventing drift and lifting that can cause an uneven cut or contact with the back of the blade.

Dado sets require a table saw with sufficient arbor length (typically 1" or more) to accommodate the stacked cutters, and the arbor bore must match (usually 5/8" in North America).
