Strong, well-fit joints are the key to quality drawer construction. Those are the joints you'll get with our drawer lock router bit, and you'll get them with speed and efficiency. Minimum material thicknesses for the Drawer Lock Joint Router Bit are 3/4" for the drawer front and from 1/2" to 3/4" thick for the sides. When making a box-type drawer use the same thickness material for the rear face as used for the front. The material must be flat and square with accurate 90-degree end cuts for the joints to be straight and the drawer flat. Setup block sold separately.

The directions are excellent for setting the fence with the setup block or without it. You give excellent directions on how to do both. But setting the height is only shown with the setup block. What if I don't have a setup block and want to set the height??? See more »

I recommend starting by setting the height to 7/16" and run a test. if the joint is too tight, the bit needs to be lowered slightly. If there is a gap between the end of the drawer side and the overlap on the drawer face, the bit needs to be raised.

I have one of those bits and have a question do I have to add to a total measurement of the drawer when using this bit ? lets say if my drawer needs to be 20"x 12" for simplicity is the stock needs to be the same size? See more »

With the drawer locking bit the drawer front and back will be full width and the sides will be a bit shorter. How much shorter will depend on the thickness of the front and back pieces. The way to size the sides is to take the total front to back dimension, subtract the combine front and back thickness, then add 7/8". for more details be sure to see the instructions in the "Documents" tab and Video in the "Video" tab above.

Will this bit work if both front, back, and sides of the drawer at 1/2" plywood? See more »
7 years ago
Yes, the Drawer Lock Router bit can be used in 1/2" stock for both the front/back and sides of the drawer. It is important to note that in 1/2" stock the flap the covers the ends of the drawer sides will be roughly 3/32" thick so you need to make sure you are using true 1/2" material as undersized ply if common and will result in a very thin flap.

Using a locking drawer joint shows that you expect this drawer to last for generations and hold everything tossed in. Make bomb-proof drawer sides with our Drawer locking Router Bit.

Fast, accurate glue-ups and strong joints are the trademark of this reverse glue joint router bit. Use it to fabricate large panels for doors, cabinets or table tops.

Butting two pieces of wood together for a glue joint will almost always cause some slippage. Our Glue Joint Router Bit holds things in place and increases glue surface for stronger door panels, table tops and more!

When properly centered, the upper and lower shoulders of the cut will be of equal height. Make sure to rout one half of each joint face down, the other half face up. Use with stock from 1/2" to 1-1/4" thick.

Use Infinity premium-quality lock miter router bits to cut super-strong 45° miter joints on kitchen cabinetry, drawers, four-sided planters, boxes, shadowboxes, and much more.
