Solid Hardwood and Tool Steel Marking Knife

Marking knives are great for layout work in your shop because they're many times more accurate than thicker pencil lines. But the advantage of scribing doesn't end there; a scribed line pre-scores your wood, making final cuts with your hand or power tools more crisp and clean by eliminating unsightly tearout. But wait, there's more! When you use a scribed layout line you create a very fine registration point for starting your chisel, hand saw or power tool cut. You won't have the "which side of the pencil line should I start on" question that inevitably creeps into your head when working with a pencil layout line.

This marking knife has a comfortable 5" long hardwood handle for all-day use. It features a precision ground tool steel edge with a 55° included angle that slices wood fibers cleanly and tracks straight and true. Made for either left or right-hand use.

Features include:

  • Solid hardwood handle construction
  • Precision ground HSS knife edge for superior durability
  • 6-1/2" overall length, 5" long handle with 1.5" x 5/8" blade
  • Finely crafted and feels solid in your hand
