Digital 3-in-1 Marking & Mortise Combination Gauge

Marking gauges are great for layout work in your shop because they're many times more accurate than thicker pencil lines. But the advantage of scribing doesn't end there; a scribed line pre-scores your wood, making final cuts with your hand or power tools more crisp and clean by eliminating unsightly tearout. But wait, there's more! When you use a scribed layout line you create a very fine registration point for starting your chisel, hand saw or power tool cut. You won't have the "which side of the pencil line should I start on" question that inevitably creeps into your head when working with a thicker pencil layout line.

With this digital 3-in-1 marking gauge you get all the benefits of a traditional scribing and layout tool with the obvious advantage of digital accuracy. The tool features a hardened marking pin for accurate scribe lines as well as a double pin setup for simultaneously marking both sides of a mortise. The hardened alloy marking pins come to a sharp point and score your material beautifully, even against the grain. Use the large square reference fence to set your scribe line in the exact location needed, then lock in place with the thumb screw. Attach the included third pin under the display to turn it into a digital divider for marking a circle or radius.

Features include:

  • Measuring range from 0" - 6"
  • Compass range from 0" - 8" radius
  • Divider range from 0" - 16" diameter
  • Accuracy within .001" (how's that for precision woodworking!)
  • Easy to read extra-large display
  • Displays in inch, metric and fractional 3-way readings
  • Humidity and dust resistant
  • Battery included

The Multi Layer Inlay Systems are designed to be decorative and make inlays up to roughly 1/4" thick. Depending on the size of the crack needing to be stabilized they may or not be an ideal choice.
