As the name suggests, we've selected our 13 most popular General Purpose Router Bits along with two essential bearing kits. Many big-box bit sets include as many router bits as they can fit in the case. While it may feel like a deal because of the quantity of bits included, you'll end up wasting money because you only end up using a few of the router bits.

Looking at the router bits a little closer, this group includes our Straight Bit (11-627) with a 1/2" diameter cut and 1" of carbide height (left). Next is our Flush Trim Router Bit (06-627) with downshear angle for a cleaner cut in complicated grain, also with 1" of carbide height. Our 1/4" Plywood Router Bit (11-560) is designed to cut a 15/64" width dado to accomodate traditionally undersized plywood. This router bit will give you the perfect fit for captured plywood backs in cabinetry or 1/4" plywood panels in doors. The last in this group is our Top-Bearing Pattern Straight Router Bit (12-690) with a 3/4" diameter and 1-1/2" carbide height.
Our next group includes (from the left) our 45° Chamfer Router Bit (36-920), great for edge profiles, or just easing the edge of a corner. The 1/4" Radius Roman Ogee Router Bit (40-850) is one of the most commonly-used edge profile router bits and will see lots of use. The 1/2" Radius Cove Router Bit (37-850) is great for simple finger pulls on doors and drawers and can also be use in joinery. The Rabbet Combo Reouter Bit (00-555) comes with seven different bearing sizes, allowing it to make rabbets from 1/8" to 1/2" in size and can also serve as a flush-trim bit! Finally, the 3/8" Radius Roundover Router Bit (38-817) is great for softening corners and when use in conjunction with the 1/2" Cove Router Bit will create a classic rule joint for folding table tops.
To round out the set, we've included our 14° Dovetail Router Bit (18-628) for classic dovetail joinery. Our 1/4" Radius/Edgebead Router Bit (02-500) will create beaded boards for cabinetry detail, and can also be used as a full 1/4" radiusing bit.
