Precision Machined in Japan
WoodOwl Bits are manufactured in Miki City, Japan. The area boasts a storied history of making high quality tools and hardware. They are not cast or forged, but milled and ground from solid S55C high carbon steel stock, ensuring perfectly concentric bits. Cutting edges are fully induction hardened to 58 HRC, maintaining a sharp cutting surface. Bits come hand sharpened from the factory and can be re-sharpened easily using a feather file. This manufacturing process produces a very sharp bit that has little to no wobble, and quickly drills accurately sized bore holes.
Patented Tri-Cut Design with Scoring Spurs
WoodOwl's patented Tri-Cut design features three flutes and cutting edges. Sharp spurs at the tip of each cutting edge score around the bore hole before the main body. The scoring cut cleanly separates wood fibers at the hole's perimeter minimizing tear out. Special design geometry isn't the only superlative setting this bit apart, however.
More Than Just Innovative Bit Geometry
WoodOwl thought of everything when designing these bits. Very sharp lead screws immediately start into the wood when the drill starts to turn. The screws pull these bits straight and true through all types of wood with little wandering. A PTFE coating lessens friction, easily ejects chips, and protects from corrosion. This reduces torque and damaging heat buildup when driving the bit. Ultra Smooths are also up to 1/3 lighter than standard augers for increased safety and reduced fatigue without sacrificing strength. Finally, 7/16" hex shanks make these bits perfect for powered hand drills or manual braces without slippage.

Infinity Tools offers the WoodOwl Ultra Smooth Bits individually in 1/2"(101-901), 3/4"(101-902), 1"(101-903), and 1-1/4"(101-904) diameters. We also offer the bits as a money-saving set of all four individual sizes (101-905). All bits come in a convenient 7-1/2" length, most practical for normal use. They are packaged in individual plastic tubes, with a screw-on top and a protective tip cover.
