What a Time Saver

Like any jig, you need to take your time with the setup and figure out how the jig works. Once you have this understanding, it is a HUGE time saver. To be able to just move over 1/16 is a life saver, especailly with the silly dimension of plywood. Once you get the different length straight edge clamps, then you really see the benefit of not having all these hand made jigs to cover various width bits or dado widths.

5 stars on jig, extra bushing too big

The jig, itself is great. 1 practice cut and the rest were very precise. The extra bushing PDJ-BTG does not fit. The diameter is .003 too large to fit into the jig. I chucked it up in a metal lathe and machined the OD to fit. I give the jig 5 stars, the PDJ-BTG 0 stars.

Yes, you can use a 3/4" bit in the Precision Dado Jig, You will need to ensure the bit is centered in the bushing on the jig to allow for clearance.

If I understand your question correctly, I believe all you would need is to make sure your routers base plate will accept a standard Porter-Cable Style guide bushing with 1-3/8" x 1-3/16" stepped opening

I have material that is .46" in width. Could I use your jig to get the dado width to the exact measurement or am I limited to 1/16th increments? With jigs I have seen you clamp the material you want to dado to get an exact fit. Is something like that possible with this jig? Thanks. See more »

Yes, the Precision Router Dado Jig uses a xxxx -type adjuster to allow dadoes to be cut in multiple passes to your desired dimensions. This requires that you make one pass, and adjust the shuttle on the jig for the second pass to define the final dado width. If you are making lots of grooves of the same size I would recommend having a look at our plywood sized straight router bits, these would allow you to make the groove you need in one pass, and they still work great with the PDJ. Here is a link yo our plywood router bit sets, all of the bits are also available individually. https://www.infinitytools.com/3-pc-pl...

I have looked at this dado jig several times. You sell it in several different configurations starting at $159 for a 3 piece. But you don't tell me what is in the 3 piece. I think it may include (1) Precision Router Dado Jig with brass guide bushing in wooden storage case (item PDJ-100) (1) 24" long Pro-Grip Straight Edge Clamp (item 100-500) (1) Infinity Cutting Tools ½" Shank Straight Router Bit - Is that correct? Precision Router Dado Jig

Use your hand-held router and our exclusive jig to make precise dado joints quickly and with confidence. C.N.C. machined from a solid piece of aluminum, this router jig allows you to make precise dados, rabbets and mortises up to 2" (50mm) wide. Includes: Precision Router Dado Jig and case; Brass Guide Bushing; 24"-long Pro-Grip Straight Edge Clamp; ½” Shank Straight Router Bit.

Most woodworkers have likely used a straight edge to guide a router to create a straight and accurate dado, rabbet or groove. It works, but innovations continue, and this set is a big one! To start with, no more straight edge or board clamped to your workpiece. The Pro-Grip Straight Edge is also a solid and reliable clamp, allowing you to position the guide and then lock it into place with the flick of a lever. Moving it to the next position takes just seconds.

Rather than rely on your ability to consistently guide the router base along the clamp (no matter how good you are!) we've added a CNC-milled aluminum jig that rides solidly on the clamp. No chance of wandering here! Even better, the included 3/4" brass guide bushing drops into a snug fit on the jig. The router drops into place quickly and easily, and stays in place during the cut.

The brass guide bushing fits most router base plates, but if you need to switch up, we have a great set to consider.

Set the router in place with the guide bushing nestled in its slot, and make your cut. No fuss, and a perfectly straight cut!

The Precision Router Dado Jig is laser marked with both standard and metric scales for accuracy and convenience. The edge of the PDJ is also marked showing the left edge of the cut for 1/2", 3/8" and 1/4" router bits so you can be confident with your setup before making a cut. The slide feature allows the Jig to be indexed so that dados of any width can be made so long as your router bit is narrower than the desired finished width, perfect for undersized plywood or custom applications. Make the first pass with the slide at the zero point then reposition the slide for each subsequent pass until your dado is the desired width. Because there is no need to reposition your straight edge clamp you don't have to worry about inconsistent results.

We wouldn't want to let things get knocked around when not in use, so we've included this fitted wooden box to hold the jig, bushing, included Infinity Cutting Tools ½” Shank Straight Router Bit and tools safely tucked away. The Precision Router Dado Jig will change the way you rout grooves and dados!
