Mill beautiful stair treads, shelves or window sills with a single pass. For extra versatility choose our bearing-guided bullnose router bits. Follow any template with these router bits and make unique half round profiles in just one pass!

Bullnose Router Bits that don't have bearings can also be used in CNC machines, and are a perfect choice when you need to get into tight places. Regardless of the type, all Infinity Tools Bullnose Router Bits are laser marked with the bit's bead height to make it easy to identify the thickness of material the bit is designed to work with.

Bullnose Router Bit Sets

The Infinity Tools 5-Piece Bullnose Router Bit Sets are available in both bearing guided (00-547) and non bearing guided (00-546) versions. These sets are an economical option allowing the craftsman to add bullnose and bead profiles in a variety of sizes.

The bullnose is a very common edge treatment in woodworking that is used on almost everything, from small mail slot dividers in desk drawers to stair treads to window sills. You can probably find at least one bullnose edge in the very room you're sitting in right now.

While a bullnose edge can be made with a Roundover and Beading Router Bit in two passes, a Bullnose Router Bit offers some distinct advantages. Infinity Tools offers two different types of Bullnose Router Bits: bearing-guided and non-bearing guided. Both of these styles are available in six different sizes, from 1/4" to 1-1/8" in diameter. Both types have their places in the workshop.

The first advantage of a Bullnose Router Bit over a Roundover Router bit is efficiency. A bullnose edge made in a single pass saves time, especially if you are making a lot of edge cuts. The next time you need to make a batch of stair treads or window sills for a house, you'll be happy to save half the time by making only one cut per edge with a bullnose router bit.

The second advantage: you can get a perfectly rounded edge without a small flat spot at the apex of the radius. This can be an issue when using a Roundover Router Bit to cut two sides of a board. If you use a roundover router bit, you won't have to spend a lot of time trying to set the exact height of the to eliminate the flat spot.

Bearing-guided Bullnose Router Bits are perfect for use in the router table. The bearing makes setting the fence quick and easy, but it also allows the bit to be used for template routing, which allows you to bullnose the edge of curved pieces.

Since they have a shoulder cutter on both the top and bottom of the bit, Bullnose Router Bits can also be used to make bead profiles on the edges of boards. These shoulder cutters create the standing bead on the edge of a workpiece which can either be left in place or ripped free and used as a separate molding detail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can these bullnose bits be used in a CNC machine?

Yes. The bullnose router bits without bearings can be used in CNC machines and are a great choice when you need to reach into tight places. See our dedicated CNC router bits too.

What shank size do these bits have?

They have a 1/2" shank and require a router or spindle that accepts a 1/2" collet. Browse all our carbide router bits.

How do I know which material thickness a bit is for?

All Infinity Tools bullnose router bits are laser marked with the bit's bead height, making it easy to identify the thickness of material each bit is designed to work with.

What is the difference between these and the bearing-guided bullnose bits?

These bits have no bearing, which lets them run in CNC machines and reach tight spots. The bearing-guided version adds easy fence setup and template routing for curved work. Compare both in our edge-forming router bits.

What cutter sizes are available?

Cutter diameters are 1", 1-1/8", 1-3/4" and 1-3/8", with cutter heights of 1", 1-13/16", 1-5/8" and 3/4".

Why use a bullnose bit instead of two roundover passes?

A bullnose bit produces a perfect half-round in one pass, so there is no defining ridge line where two separate roundover cuts would meet, and little need for sanding.

What projects are these bits best for?

They are ideal for milling stair treads, shelves and window sills, and for production runs where a clean, consistent half-round edge is needed.

Do these bits work well for tight or intricate areas?

Yes. Because they have no bearing, they are a perfect choice when you need to get into tight places that a bearing-guided bit could not reach.

What profile do these bits cut?

They cut a bullnose profile, which is a full half-round edge. For more profile options, see our molding router bits.

Who manufactures these bullnose router bits?

They are made by Infinity Cutting Tools (Infinity Tools), known for premium carbide router bits and shaper cutters.
