Infinity Tools Zero Clearance Insert (Z.C.I.) Plate for DeWalt 10" DW717

Great idea and fairly good part. It fell short in a couple of places though. The plastic insert must be clearanced around the mounting holes to be able to install it on the saw. IT WILL NOT BOLT ON WITHOUT MODIFICATION. At this price point, this step should have been done in manufacturing. Also, the plastic inserts are a very soft flimsy material. The system would be much safer and better if the inserts had more stiffness. I don’t regret the purchase, just disappointed in the shortcomings. They are so easily remedied.

The aluminum plate fits great, but the insert is far from perfected. First of all the insert is like foam core board. Something sturdier would be better, however, it does work well. Secondly, the insert has a carefully cut angle to hold inside the channel in the plate. But...the angle is only cut on the left side (of the one I received), not the right, resulting in the right side of the insert wobbling. Thirdly, with the insert in place, it covers the screw holes needed to mount the plate. But because the insert is only foam core, I was able to drive the screw through it. This item requires a bit more engineering.
