A reliable straight edge is useful for many tasks in the modern shop. The 46” length of our anodized aluminum straight edge is extremely useful for setting up machines, making sure your jointer and planer tables are parallel, and It's perfect for checking your table saw for flatness. Great for setting up router tables and fences, and the length is again ideal for aligning bandsaw wheels. When not in use for machinery set up it also serves as a precision layout tool.
The straight edge is sold without rules (PSE-100), but a 1/4"-wide channel is machined on both faces of the tool near the reference edge. You can put two different rules on, two matching rules, or no rules. The choice is up to you! We offer a choice of three adhesive-backed rules: Fractional (PSE-R01), Metric (PSE-R02) and Center-finding (PSE-R03) for you to customize your straight edge to best meet your needs. Mix and match to make it your own!
Our anodized aluminum straightedge will not rust and weighs in at 1.75 lbs. The straight edge measures 5/16" thick (able to easily stand without support) and 1-7/8" high. The reference edge is machined flat to within 0.003" over the entire length (+/- .001”).
At the end of the day your straight edge will safely store on a nail or screw using the provided hang hole. Use it only as a straight edge, or add the self-adhesive rule (or rules) of your choice to make your straight edge do double duty as a layout tool!
