This quality Top Bearing Pattern router bit features a bearing above the cutter which mounts to the shank. When used in a table mounter router, this configuration allows you to place your pattern below your workpiece which means you can see what you're routing! For best results and longer router bit life we suggest you rough cut your work piece so it's about 1/8" larger than your pattern and then use your top bearing router bit to make the final cut. Our new plunge point top bearing router bits for extra versatility. You can use these router bits with or without the bearing kit to make plunge entry cuts in the middle of your workpiece and you wont burn your material. Watch the video to see the added benefit of a plunging point on your straight router bits.
