Liberon Oil-Free Ultra Fine #0000 Steel Wool

2 Reviews
$12.90

Size

Liberon steel wool has longer fibers creating a more even scratch pattern. It goes through a post-production treatment to remove residual oils from the manufacturing process, so no contaminants are left behind on your workpiece. It is recommended for the application of all Liberon Black Bison and Special Effects Waxes, but it can be used to apply many other types of finishes. It also works great for final rubbing out and polishing of existing finishes.

Features:

  • Two Sizes Available
    • 100g - generally enough for most small to medium-sized projects
    • 250g - this is a lot of steel wool. If you foresee regular use or have a large project, go with this size.
  • Longer Fibers provide a more uniform scratch pattern on your work. It is best to cut the steel wool from the roll with scissors instead of tearing, as it will better maintain the unique fiber structure.
  • Oil-Free - Liberon Steel Wool is specially processed to remove all oil from manufacturing, preventing errant residue after applying finish or final polishing.

It was not my first purchase, which resulted in an admiration for the service and products available. I was enormously pleased to receive it.

Liberon steel wool

Nice pads but extremely small compared to same grade 0000 you buy in the hardware store. About half the size. Very disappointing.

Hello, Steven, we appreciate your input, and we are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your purchase. As noted on our site, Liberon steel wool is treated to be oil-free, and has more uniform strands than typical steel wool from the hardware store. This leaves a more even scratch pattern that will not leave residual manufacturing contaminants on/in your finish. So, while you may get a larger quantity of steel wool labeled as #0000 from your local home center, our experience has been that #0000 Liberon Steel Wool performs markedly better.
