The project calls for a 1-1/2" Forstner bit and a 1-1/16" Forstner bit, plus an optional bit extension. A 7/16" drill bit is also used.

You will need a drill press, a lathe, a screwdriver, a wood blank of your choice, and the turning tools necessary to create your desired profile, along with the Forstner and drill bits listed.
