The JessEm Wood Sabre Marking Gauge brings modern accuracy and control to one of the most essential tools in the woodshop. Built from high-quality stainless steel and anodized 6061 aluminum, the Wood Sabre Marking Gauge feels solid in the hand and is made for long-term accuracy. Its unique wood sabre design applies smooth, consistent pressure across the stock, helping you maintain control while creating crisp, accurate scribe lines.

Available in Imperial or Metric

Choose the version that matches how you work. The Imperial model offers a 0" to 6" marking range, while the Metric model lets you dial in precise scribe lines from 0 to 150mm. Both versions are designed for fast setup, fine adjustment, and reliable repeatability in the shop.

Fine Micro Adjustment for Accurate Layouts

A fine micro adjuster makes it easy to dial in your exact setting. The Imperial version features laser-engraved markings at 1/2" intervals with 1/16" of fine adjustment per revolution, while the graduated collar allows adjustment down to 1/256". The Metric version includes laser-engraved markings every 10mm, 2mm of fine adjustment per revolution, and a graduated collar that adjusts down to 0.1mm.

Sharp, Durable A2 Tool Steel Blade

The beveled A2 tool steel blade is hardened to 60 RC for long-lasting performance and crisp marking. When not in use, the blade retracts below the reference face, helping protect both the cutting edge and your workpiece.

Large Stainless Steel Reference Face

The large stainless steel reference face provides stable, controlled contact against your stock. On the Imperial model, the face is just under 3" wide and sits 3/4" below the blade. On the Metric model, the face is just under 75mm wide and sits 19mm below the blade. The result is smooth tracking, better stability, and more accurate layout lines.

Locked-In Accuracy

Once your measurement is set, the stainless steel locking knob holds the gauge securely in position. Each gauge is honed and calibrated for accuracy at JessEm’s Canadian manufacturing facility before shipping, giving you a precision layout tool that is ready for serious woodworking.
