So far cutting in pine I get minor chipping. Wood is very dry would expect it to be more with higher moisture content wood. May be able to hide with minimal sanding. Have experimented with different speeds and seems to be less at 1430 rpm. My drill press doesn't adjust to their speed of about 1600 as stated in their demonstration video. Have not tried hardwood yet.

I am interested in the 90-502 raised panel bit with the 61-507 tongue and groove set. I know the 90-502 is designed to yield a true 1/4" tongue around the panel to fit into a 1/4" groove, but I'd like to get the 61-507 instead of the 61-502 to have versatility to use solid panel or 5.5/5.9 mm plywood. Will it work just to go slightly deeper with the 90-502 so that the 1/4" will narrow enough to fit into a 5.9mm groove? See more »

Absolutely you can use the 90-502 and either make your panel stock slightly thinner or adjust the raised panel bit to cut a little deeper. You can make the tongue portion of the panel to whatever thickness you need.

I purchased the "Cove" 3-piece raised panel door bit set, and I love it. I would like to use the actual cove bit for another application, other than just raised panel doors, and would like to swap out the small bearing that comes with that bit for a much larger diameter bearing. Can you tell me what the diameter of the hole is in the bearing of the cove raised panel horizontal bit? I know it has a 1/2" shank, but the little xxxx that holds the bearing on is way smaller than 1/2". Can you tell me which bearing from you guys, I would need to purchase in order to use this 9/16" high x 1-3/8" wide cove bit as a 9/16" x 9/16" cove? See more »

Any bearing with a 3/16" ID will fit your raised panel bit. You just need to find one with a OD that will leave the amount of material you would like. We offer several individual bearing with 3/6" ID as well as some bearing kits that are designed to work with our rabbeting router bits but will work equally well on the raised panel bits. Just make sure you choose the kits with 3/16" id, as they are also available with 1/4" for the Mega Rabbeting router bit.

I am trying to make panel door for my closets I have made the stiles and rails that will accept a half inch panel the problem is finding a router bit that will make a raise look but will leave one half inch to fit in my rails and stiles can you help with that See more »

Any of our raised panel bits should be able to work but it depends on the thickness of your rails/stiles and how thick you panel stock is. any standard or horizontal raised panel bit can be adjusted to leave a different thickness tongue. Please feel free to email us at customerservice@infinitytools.com if you have more questions.

Can I use the 22.5 Shaker raised panel bit on 1/2 inch hardwood stock? I have the mini ogre but I'd prefer the Shaker profile. See more »

Our shaker rail and stile router bits are typically recommended for 3/4" to 7/8" thick stock, it is physically possible to use the shaker profile in 1/2" stock but you would only have 1/8" of material on either side of the panel groove.
