Solid Carbide Pattern Routing Bits for Template Work and Flush Trimming
Pattern routing is the most reliable method for duplicating shapes repeatedly and exactly. The solid carbide compression pattern bits in this collection are designed for template routing with a bearing that follows a guide — either on top of or beneath the workpiece — while the compression spiral geometry cuts cleanly through both surfaces of veneered plywood and laminated sheet goods.
The Solid Carbide Compression Double Bearing Pattern Router Bit provides two bearings — one above and one below the cutter — for maximum template-following flexibility. This design allows you to flip the workpiece or the template without changing bits, making it ideal for cabinet parts, curved furniture components, and nested production routing.
Compression Geometry for Tearout-Free Cuts
Standard upcut spiral bits can pull surface veneers when trimming. Compression pattern bits solve this by combining an upcut geometry at the base and a downcut geometry near the top of the cutter. The opposing forces compress the material at the cut surface, leaving a clean, chip-free edge on both faces — critical when working with veneer-core plywood or high-pressure laminate.
Available in both 1/4-inch and 1/2-inch shank versions, including the 1/4-inch shank Compression Flush Trim bit and the 2-piece Compression Pattern Cutting Set. For guidance on router table setup and pattern routing techniques, visit the Infinity Tools Learning Center.
