Works as described

Finished planing a few hundred board feet of white oak and tested with this before putting through machine. It beeped a few times and we did find some metalic stuff in the wood although still not sure what it was. I would say theyve prob. done their job. Easy to recommend

Need better instructions

Have to calibrate the Lumber Wizard 4 every time I turn it on and some times it is difficult to calibrate. Detection seems to be pretty good. Instructions are poor.

I am curious if The Lumber Wizard 4 is designed to pick up metal banded within a whole unit of lumber at all? Reason for asking is we sometimes have culls that we run through machines and would like to be able to test a unit see if somehow staples/nails are on the inside of the unit. Looking to make our operation safer. See more »
