Our replacement ball bearings are engineered for high RPM performance and feature double shielding for exceptional durability. The Beading Conversion Kit lets you swap the 3/16" x 1/2" O.D. bearing on your profile router bit with a smaller 3/8" O.D. bearing. Using the smaller bearing reveals more of the cutting edge, creating a decorative bead profile. This setup is commonly used with Roundover, Ogee, and other profile router bits.

Each kit includes a bearing and an Allen key. Simply reuse the original screw from your router bit during installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the beading conversion kit do?

It lets you swap the standard 3/16" x 1/2" O.D. bearing on a profile router bit for a smaller 3/8" O.D. bearing, revealing more of the cutting edge to create a decorative bead profile. See related edge-forming router bits.

Which router bits is this kit compatible with?

It is commonly used with Roundover, Ogee, and other profile router bits. Swapping the bearing changes how much of the cutting edge is exposed.

What is included in the kit?

Each kit includes a 3/16" x 3/8" O.D. bearing and an Allen key. You reuse the original screw from your router bit during installation.

Do I need extra hardware to install the bearing?

No. The kit comes with the Allen key you need, and you simply reuse the original screw from your existing router bit to mount the new bearing.

What size bearing does the kit replace?

It replaces the standard 3/16" x 1/2" O.D. bearing on your profile bit with the smaller 3/8" O.D. bearing supplied in the kit.

Is the bearing durable enough for high-speed routing?

Yes. The replacement bearing is engineered for high-RPM performance and features double shielding for exceptional durability.

How does a smaller bearing create a bead profile?

A smaller bearing lets the bit cut deeper into the edge, exposing more of the cutter. On a Roundover or Ogee bit, that extra exposure leaves a raised bead instead of a simple rounded edge.

Is this a one-time modification?

No, it is reversible. Because you only swap the bearing, you can return the bit to its original profile by reinstalling the standard bearing.

Where does this kit fit in my router setup?

It is a small accessory that expands the versatility of bits you already own. Browse more router accessories to complete your kit.
