Infinity Tools Flat-Top Joinery Blades for the SDB-825, 8" Dadonator XL

Woodworking projects often call for exposed joinery such as through tenons, wedged tenons, tusk tenons, bridle joints, and box joints. When the joint is meant to be seen, clean, precise cuts make all the difference.

Infinity Tools Flat-Top Joinery Blades produce crisp, flat-bottomed cuts that help you create flawless exposed joinery. Instead of hiding the joint, make it a deliberate design feature that showcases your craftsmanship and elevates the finished project.

When perfectly flat-bottomed dados, clean tenons, and exposed joinery matter, Infinity Tools Flat-Top Joinery Blades for the Dadonator XL (SDB-825) deliver the precision you need. Standard dado sets typically use Alternate Top Bevel (ATB) outside blades that can leave small “bat ears” and score marks on the bottom of wider cuts. These specialized flat-top outside blades eliminate those unwanted marks for exceptionally clean, flat-bottomed dados and square tenon shoulders.

Designed as a direct replacement for the standard ATB outside blades included with the SDB-825 dado set, the Flat-Top Joinery Blades are sold as a matched pair, making it easy to upgrade your dado set for exposed and visible joinery.

The Flat-Top Joinery Blades for the Dadonator XL (SDB-825) feature 24-tooth, 5° negative-hook blades with beveled scoring teeth to help minimize chipping and tear-out—ideal for plywood and blind dados. The flat-top teeth produce clean, square shoulders without the “bat ears” left by traditional ATB outside blades.

With perfectly flat outside blades, you can make dados wider than the maximum cutting width of the dado set. Simply step over your cuts to achieve the desired width without leaving the telltale scoring marks produced by traditional ATB outside blades.

As an added bonus, these two 1/8" kerf blades can be stacked together by themselves to produce a true, perfectly flat 1/4" kerf dado cut. That’s ideal for 1/4" box joints, drawer-bottom dados, and anywhere else you need a clean, flat 1/4" wide cut.

Built to premium specifications, these blades deliver outstanding performance for demanding joinery applications.

NOTE: These blades are not compatible with the SDB-800 dado set.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Infinity Tools Flat-Top Joinery Blades used for?

These blades are designed to produce exceptionally clean, flat-bottomed dados and square shoulders for precision joinery. They are especially useful for exposed joints such as box joints, bridle joints, through tenons, wedged tenons, and other joinery where the finished cut will remain visible. Explore more cabinetry and joinery tools for your woodworking projects.

Are these blades compatible with the Infinity Tools Dadonator XL?

Yes. These blades are designed specifically as replacement outside blades for the Infinity Tools SDB-825 Dadonator XL 8" Stacked Dado Blade Set. They replace the standard ATB outside blades when a perfectly flat-bottomed cut is desired.

Will these blades work with the SDB-800 Dadonator dado set?

No. These Flat-Top Joinery Blades are designed specifically for the SDB-825 Dadonator XL and are not compatible with the SDB-800 Dadonator Stacked Dado Blade Set.

What is the advantage of flat-top blades over the standard Dadonator XL outside blades?

Standard ATB outside blades use angled teeth that can leave small scoring marks or “bat ears” at the outside edges of a dado. These flat-top blades eliminate those marks, producing a truly flat bottom and clean, square corners that are ideal for visible or precision joinery. See five useful woodworking joints you can make with a Dadonator dado set for more project ideas.

What size are the Flat-Top Joinery Blades?

Each blade is 8" in diameter with 24 carbide teeth, a 1/8" kerf, a 5/8" arbor, and a 5° negative hook angle. They are precision-designed to work with the SDB-825 Dadonator XL.

Can I use the two Flat-Top Joinery Blades without the Dadonator XL chippers?

Yes. The two 1/8" blades can be stacked together by themselves to create a true, flat-bottomed 1/4" wide cut. This is ideal for 1/4" box joints, drawer-bottom grooves, dados, and other precision joinery. You can also explore our complete selection of box joint joinery tools.

Can these blades be used to make dados wider than the Dadonator XL's normal cutting width?

Yes. Because the outside blades leave a flat-bottomed cut without ATB scoring marks, you can make multiple overlapping or stepped passes to create wider dados while maintaining a clean, consistent bottom. Browse our table saw accessories for additional tools designed to improve accuracy and versatility at the table saw.

Are these blades good for cutting plywood?

Yes. The 24-tooth design incorporates beveled scoring teeth that help reduce chipping and tear-out, making the blades well suited for plywood, blind dados, drawer-bottom grooves, and other applications where a clean edge is important.

What type of carbide is used on these blades?

The blades feature premium C4 micrograin carbide teeth designed for excellent edge retention, durability, and clean cutting performance. The carbide can also be professionally resharpened to extend the useful life of the blades. Learn more about Infinity Tools premium woodworking saw blades.
