Professional Miter Saw Fence System
anodized for durability and have ¼-20 tracks on all faces. This allows the two included flip stops to be easily mounted and positioned anywhere along the length of the rails.
Many woodworkers have a miter saw station in their workshop and for good reason. A miter station makes cutting long boards to length easy and handles all sorts of precision mitering tasks. Miter stations can take on many different forms, from built-in benches to mobile stations. One thing every miter station needs is a solid fence that keeps work pieces square to the blade for accuracy, and allows the use of stops for repeat cuts. This is where the Infinity 48" Professional Miter Saw Fence System, item 100-349, really shines.
Whether you are building a Miter station from scratch or simply want to upgrade your existing setup, this fence kit is a perfect fit. It includes a pair of 48" long fence rails that are made from a heavy wall 3/4" x 3" aluminum extrusion that has three 1/4-20 T-tracks on each face and one on each edge. These tracks will accept any 1/4-20 accessory or the addition of sacrificial fence faces (not included). The rails are also anodized for durability.
All the mounting hardware you will need is included in this kit. Along with the fence rails themselves, you will also receive 4 mounting brackets. These brackets will be mounted to your miter station table with the included screws and washers that allow for minor adjustments so you can position the fences in perfect alignment with your saw.
The fences themselves attach to the brackets with a simple 1/4-20 nut and bolt, utilizing one of the three T-tracks on the back of the fence rails. This attachment system means that the fences can slide side-to-side, allowing you to adjust the fences on your miter saw itself without losing adjustment. This is a really nice feature for those days when you find yourself cutting crown molding and need to make room for compound cuts.
We consider this a complete system because it includes an adhesive tape rule for both the right and left-hand sides of the blade and a pair of flip stops. The rules are not installed so you can put them in the most convenient location on your specific miter station and each measure a full 12' long.
Two different flip stops are included. Both utilize the top T-track on the fence rails and can be configured for use with or without a 3/4" thick sacrificial fence installed. The first stop is a traditional straight fence design but what makes it unique is that you can add the included aluminum foot for use with large or unusually shaped work pieces that may not interface correctly with a narrow stop.
The second stop has a unique "Pork Chop" shape. This shape allows it to be used in conjunction with the straight stop. When you slide a workpiece forward into the stop it will automatically flip up and out of the way. Slide the workpiece to the side and the stop will drop back in place. This allows for a variety of setups that require the use of multiple stops without the need to continuously raise and lower each stop individually.
So you can add your own sacrificial fences we include six 1/4-20 flat head screws and oval nuts that allow you to make you own from any 3/4" thick material. This gives you the flexibility to tailor your fence to suit your specific miter saw station and needs. All that is needed is a 1/4" drill bit and a standard countersink bit large enough to make an 82° countersink for a 1/4-20 screw head.
We think that this is the most complete and well thought-out fence system on the market. It includes all the parts needed to bring your miter station to the next level. If you're working on a new miter station or its time to give your old station a little love, we're sure this system will be just what the doctor ordered.
