We suggest using the type of clamp that best suits the needs of your project. Parallel clamp, band clamps, or corner clamps are all great options but again your clamping needs would be dictated by the type of project.

I'd like to know how to approach my glue-up. Parallel clamps as though it's a typical but-joint, or band clamps, or jig to bring pressure perpendicular to the miter?
