Does the Brass Pilot Router Bit spin like a bearing? I want to avoid marks or grooves.

Does the Brass Pilot on the Brass Pilot Router Bits spin similar to a bearing? I have a few pilot bits that are one piece and they often eat or burn into the wood, leaving a mark or a slight groove....trying to avoid that. Thanks!
