What’s the minimum shaft length needed in the collet for cutting thick stock with this bit? Will it protrude?
Infinity Tools 1/4" Shank x 1/4" Cutter Diameter x 1" Cutter Length. Solid Carbide Spiral Flush Trim Router Bits
I'd like to use this to cut thick stock so I like the OAL of this bit. What is the minimum amount of the shaft that needs to be in the collet? And if I creep up on the thickness of the stock, will the shaft be proud of the cutting edge?

Especially for longer bits, we recommend you have as much shank inserted into the collet as possible without letting the shank bottom out. All solid carbide router bits will have a cutting diameter very slightly smaller than the shank due to the way they are made.
