Can I swap the small bearing on the cove bit in the 3-piece raised panel set for a larger diameter bearing?
Infinity Tools 1/2" Shank Horizontal Raised Panel Router Bits
I purchased the "Cove" 3-piece raised panel door bit set, and I love it. I would like to use the actual cove bit for another application, other than just raised panel doors, and would like to swap out the small bearing that comes with that bit for a much larger diameter bearing. Can you tell me what the diameter of the hole is in the bearing of the cove raised panel horizontal bit? I know it has a 1/2" shank, but the little xxxx that holds the bearing on is way smaller than 1/2". Can you tell me which bearing from you guys, I would need to purchase in order to use this 9/16" high x 1-3/8" wide cove bit as a 9/16" x 9/16" cove?

Any bearing with a 3/16" ID will fit your raised panel bit. You just need to find one with a OD that will leave the amount of material you would like. We offer several individual bearing with 3/6" ID as well as some bearing kits that are designed to work with our rabbeting router bits but will work equally well on the raised panel bits. Just make sure you choose the kits with 3/16" id, as they are also available with 1/4" for the Mega Rabbeting router bit.
