Can the 00-555 rabbet kit be used in a handheld Bosch 1617 router safely? I’ve used smaller bits before and seek advice on results and safety.

Hi... I recently purchased the 00-555 rabbet kit. I'm contacting you to get your opinion on whether or not it's a good idea to use this bit in a handheld router. I've only used bits up to around 3/4" diameter in the past. I have a Bosch 1617 router. Any advice regarding results and/or safety? Thanks for your help

The 00-555 certainly can be used in a variable speed handheld router. We recommend a speed of 18,000 rpm. If using the bit to make wide and/or deep rabbets we recommend making those cuts in a couple of passes depending on the size of the rabbet and the material being cut.
