The Insert Pro One Piece Rail and Stile Cutter is designed to allow you to make door up to 7/8" thick. That being said using the cutter to its height limit should allow you to make doors from 1" stock. Doing so will be using the entirety of the cutter and will not allow for any adjustment of the profile placement on the stock. In other words the physical maximum for these cutters is 1" but I would recommend a practical maximum of 15/16" to allow for variables such as spindle runout, material variations, and setup variations. Our recommended 7/8" max will allow for adjustments of the profile placement for ascetic purposes.
