IRWIN 24" Parallel Jaw Clamp
I bought my first pair of Irwin, 48", parallel jaw clamps. They each had a black piece with a spring pin; it seems to be made for sliding along the clamp bar. What is this pieces, and how do I use it?

This piece acts as a stop for the moving jaw. it also acts as a foot making it easy to slide the moving jaw when the clamp is sitting on a workbench. The spring loaded pin allows the foot to be easily removed so the sliding jaw can slide off the end of the bar, and reversed changing the clamp from squeezing to spreading.
