NO, the Scrub and Smoother while similar in size are very different. The Scrub requires a wide mouth to clear the aggressive chips it makes while a smoother requires a tight mouth to support the wood in front of the cut to produce the smoothest possible surface. Also the scrub plane is quite a bit narrower than the smoother.
