Should I choose a 5 or 6 pad size? I work mainly with furniture but have a flooring project needing minimal material removal. Is 6 better for flooring and 5 for furniture?

How do I decide between the 5" and 6" pad size? I build mostly furniture, but do have a flooring refinish project for which I want to take off as little as possible, so don't want to use a true floor sander. I assume the 6" for the flooring, but is the 5" better for normal furniture sized projects?

It really depends on the size of the work you do. For large flat surfaces bigger is better. I personally prefer a 6" sander as they cover large surfaces more quickly, and make it a little easier to keep a nice flat surface.
