What's the difference between Odie's wax and oil? Why choose one over the other for specific applications?

Can you please tell me, other than general consistency, what is the difference between Odie's wax and Odie's oil? Your description is basically the same for both, including suggested applications. Can you give me reasons why one might be preferred over the other for specific applications? Thanks!

Odie's Oil is intended to be used as a primary finish in the same way you would use any other Oil finish that penetrates into the wood like Danish Oil and Tongue oil finishes. Odie's Wax is a traditional hard stile furniture wax (not a paste wax with chemical thinners) and is intended to be used as such to provide additional shine and protection to a project. Odies Wax can be used anywhere you would use another furniture wax, but has the advantage of no chemical solvents.
