Yes, I think your plan sounds perfectly acceptable. I would personally follow the same procedure on a larger saw. 2 HP is fine to run the 8" Dadonator.
Can I safely use the 8" dado blade for 1.5" wide by 1.75" deep dados with a 2 hp cabinet saw in multiple passes? Infinity Tools Dadonator Jr., 6" Stacked Dado Saw Blade Set
I need to make 1.5 " wide by 1.75" deep dados with an underpowered (2 hp) cabinet saw. Can I use the 8" dadonator safely by making repeated shallow passes, increasing the depth of cut by about 1/2" to 3/4" on each pass? Thanks for your reply.
