The bit should be able to cut both the pocket and the inlay in a single pass, it is recommended to take your time and clear the waste from the groove often. Some species are more inclined to clog the bit than others.
Can the 1/8” inlay bit cut the depth of my Infinity inlay material in one pass? Infinity Tools Brass Inlay Kit w/ Spiral Bit & Centering Pin
