Yes, it can be mounted and or read either left, right, or both. once you set your Zero point the unit reads distance from zero, it does not care in which direction. Note, switching from left of blade to right of blade will require resetting Zero, The Unit has both an absolute and incremental zero setting, basically allowing you to set your absolute (left of blade) zero and your incremental (right of blade) zero. Incremental Zero can also be used as a secondary zero allowing you to return to a specific location by setting it as zero rather than remembering a measurement. The only concern would be to insure that you have adequate track both right and left of the blade by mounting the sensor track accordingly
