How much bigger will I have to make a door using 1/2 overlay hinges if I use item 83-170 Door Edge Cutter.

The 83-170 has a maximum 1/4" profile width. A standard 1/2 overlay hings typically overlaps the cabinet by roughly 9/32". In this case you would still have a very small flat on the back of the door overlapping the cabinet box / face frame. Some hinges may allow you to overlap a bit more. In any case this profile really is intended more for either a full overlay hings where you have additional overlap, or in a more traditional face frame, non euro hinge design.
