Will the 1/2" inch setup block work for undersized plywood 15/32"?

the setup block will work to get you quite close with only a small adjustment needed to the fence setting. That being said we do not recommend using a lapped miter joint in material thinner than 1/2" as the miter portion becomes very thin.
