Hi, the BIS-112 does have the opening in the back for a splitter as shown in the photo. The original Unisaw was not available with a modern riving knife that moves up and down with the blade however the "New Unisaw" with both hight and tilt wheels on the front of the saw was. The BIS-112 insert is for the Original left tilt Unisaw and not the New Unisaw. Please note the physical dimensions of the insert opening on the two saws mentioned above are also different from the New Unisaw having a much larger opening and we recommend confirming your needed size with the dimension listed in the chart above.
