The 010-080 is a dedicated cross cutting blade, it is not designed for ripping applications. The 010-380 is a Multi Material blade and is designed to perform well in materials that dull other blades quickly such as MDF, plastics and even aluminum. For a general all around blade for hardwood, softwood and occasional plywood and MDF I would recommend sticking with the 010-050.
